Out of the mouth of Babes

I feel badly for always making post about Carmen, but she is just so funny sometimes. And she says some really funny things. I have two funny stories to relate.

One night at dinner we had mashed potatoes. Carmen saw me add salt and pepper to mine and wanted to do the same to hers. She started with pepper and only added a little. Then she DUMPED the salt on into a little salt mountain atop her fluffy potatoes. I told her it was going to taste bad and she might not want to eat them anymore. She insisted that's was how she wanted them and scooped up a big spoonful. She made the disguested face and barely managed to swallow. So I said, "I told you it was going to be too much salt." To which she replied, "not salt, too much Dr. Pepper!!". I about peed my pants from laughing so hard. Of course she meant to say pepper, but she has a mommy who likes Dr. Pepper and always hears me order it when we go out to eat. It was just so funny!

The other story was one morning this week she woke up and immediately wanted some apple juice. I tried to convince her that she needed to drink some milk before she could have juice. She asked why she needed to drink milk. I replied by saying milk has calcium that will make her bones strong. She replied back by saying, "well I want juice...with SUGAR!". Now you have to imagine her saying with a lot of attitude, because that is how she says everything lately. Once again I almost peed my pants from laughing so hard. I just never know what she is going to say next!!

Updates, Updates

I am having a hard time keeping up with this on a regular basis. Carmen has a lot of exciting news to update everyone on. First and the most exciting for all of us is SHE IS SLEEPING IN HER OWN BED!!!!!!! After three LONG and squishy years of her sleeping in our bed, she is finally out of it. She no longer needs anyone to lay with her until she falls asleep and when she comes to our bed in the middle of the night, we just walk her back to her bed and there are no tears or complaints. I LOVE IT!!! Now, if she would quit coming in at all. It's usually just one time because she is afraid of snakes in her room. She has been doing it for two weeks now! The next step is moving the two girls into the same room...

Carmen's second exciting news is her gymnastics class. She loves it and is so good at it. Yesterday she even climbed up a rope! She is awesome on the balance beams and loves the big long trampoline and she "sticks her landings" perfectly everytime. In class it's called "freeze". It's only 4 weeks long, so we might sign her up again.

And her last exciting news is she started Joy School! She's been waiting ever since last year to be old enough to go to preschool. Joy School is a preschool co-op for those who aren't familiar. There are five kids in her class and each week a different mom teaches the group. She has come home everytime so excited for the next time she gets to go. I really thinks she's going to learn so much from Joy School.

Aliza is prematurely entering those terrible two's. She wants to do everything herself and doesn't need any help!! Including getting herself dressed in the morning. It's doesn't ever go so well. She gets embarrassed about little things she does and gets mad when you laugh or try to fix things for her. But she is still ever so sweet and loves to read stories with daddy. She has a smile that is so contagious and that deep from the belly laughter. I just love my Aliza and know that she is going to be the sweet spirit in our family. She calls Carmen "Carmi" and can't stand her sister, but can't stand to be without her. I guess that's sisterly love.

I think that's all the update for now. Sorry it's so long, but I have just gotten so behind. There are others things I could tell about, but I'll spare you all this time.
