Creek Walk
Wow, two post in one day! These are just a few random pictures from a walk we took along the creek close to our house. It's really beautiful there this time of year, but other months it's quite ugly. The girls were picking flowers, but wouldn't ever turn around for me to get a picture of their faces.

Week 9 - Project 365
Ok, so I'll be honest - I didn't take a picture everyday this week. I slacked! But I have taken enough pictures this year that haven't been posted in my project yet, so I will use some of those. The reason for my slacking was we spent two days at Grandma's house having some R&R while David was out of town. It was so great to be taken care of and enjoy the company of my mother-in-law. I forgot my camera, so I didn't get pictures those days...oops!
Sunday - Carmen playing the drums on the Wii with Aunt Carrie playing guitar

Monday - The girls like to use the bananas as phones to talk to each other. It's pretty funny.

Tuesday - We got some kites to fly here in windy Mtn. House. Carmen and Sariah had a great time running all over the court with their kites flying high.

Aliza wasn't so into the kite thing. She only cared about her snack in the baggie.

Wednesday - I was called downstairs by Carmen this day to find to her on the counter washing the dishes!!!! She had washed a whole sink full and dried them off and wanted me to put them away. I was astounded by her responsibility and her willingness to help a tired mommy. I guess she recognized that the sink was overflowing and someone had to do something about it soon. So, they weren't perfectly clean, but I put them away nonetheless. I didn't want to discourage her from her great efforts.

Thursday - so everyweek I have my OB dr appointments on thursday. It's has become Aliza and mine's little secret to get donuts while Carmen is at school. So before my appointment this day, we stopped at this little donut shop for our weekly donut and juice. Aliza just eats the sprinkles off the top and leaves the rest.

Friday - Carmen has suddenly gained confidence on her bike. She got it for Christmas and really care for it until a few weeks ago. She rode her bike all the way to Central Park from our house. That's around 1/2 mile one way (a guess). I was so proud of her making it the whole way! Of course she wants to stop a million times to look at various different things, but it's still fun.

Saturday - Carmen is starting to paint and draw pictures of real things, rather than just scribbles. This was a rainbow over a pond full of fish. And to the side is my three legged cat I had growing up. I had just told her about my cat a few days before.

And this is a product image David needed for work. He has had me do several product images that are used on their website. It's fun to take pictures that aren't of people sometimes.

Week 8 - Project 365
I'm trying to get a head start on posting this week.
Monday - Carmen is really starting to draw "real" pictures. This was a train she made on the back patio.

Tuesday - This is a picture of a picture my Sister in law had framed for her husbands bday. I had never had one of my pictures printed so large and than framed like this. I felt so honorded that she wanted it.

Wednesday - We saw this idea in the Family Fun magazine to draw a picture and then hold it in the rain for smear the colors. Since it's been rainy for two weeks, I thought it was a fun idea. Of course, the day we did our pictures, there was NO RAIN! We finally used a water bottle to make the rain.

Thursday - Aliza got a little haircut. She had to straighten Aliza's hair first because it's so curly. I was shocked at how lon git was after it was straightened! This picture is after the haircut, but still straight.

Friday - My brother and sister in law were here visiting from Utah. I got to take pictures of my two nephews. How cute is this little guy?!!

Saturday - So this is a long story...when David and I got married and left on our honeymoon, we left keys to our apartment for my family to move in some of my furniture. While we were gone, they decided to really play a joke on us "Beans" hid pinto beans in every imaginable spot of our apartment and our stuff. They were EVERYWHERE! Some even began to sprout out of our shower drain...So, next week we will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary and I am STILL finding beans in some of our things. These ones came out of David's skii pants he wore last weekend for an overnight snow camping trip. I guess he hasn't worn those pants since we married...not much snow in California.

Aliza's Pictures
For those who have been asking - more pictures of Aliza have been posted to my flicker site. (the link at the right) It is still not all of them. But I PROMISE I will finish them soon.
Week 7 - Project 365
Ok, so this project is starting to catch up with me. I HAVE taken a picture everyday, but it's just so much work to get them all posted on the blog. And being that I'm 36 weeks preggo, I don't have much motivation to do anything! We had a great week of Valentines day celebrations. Carmen made her valentines and took them to all her Joy school friends. They got some candy and cute socks from Grandma Bean. And they a got a really fun package from Oma (that's my mom). Friday night we had a get together with some other moms and kids whose daddies were all not going to be home that night. We made pizzas, did crafts, decorated cookies and played games. Then we put a movie on and the mommies stayed up late chatting the night away. It really was so much fun! So, I did take pictues of that, but not with my camera...so I don't have those ones. I've also still not finished editing my photo shoot of Aliza. (sorry Mom!). I will get them done when I can. I guess I will post the ones that I've finished on my flicker site and just add them as I go...
So, I won't take the time to put them in order. I really just want to get this done before Carmen wakes up....
The girls opening a package from Oma

Coloring on the couch with some new crayons from Oma

The flowers I got from David for Valentines day. I told him to get them EARLY so he wouldn't pay an arm and a leg.

The girls loving on each other. Aliza is wearing her news socks from Grandma.

Carmen with her friend Sariah after Joy School. They are showing me their Valentines they got from their friends.

This is the valentine Carmen helped me make for her friends.

Carmen and Sariah playing "hair salon". Just seconds after I took this picture Carmen managed to get the comb VERY stuck in Sariah's hair. I thought I would really have to take her to the hair salon to get it out!! But after her sitting very still for over an hour, I did get it out.

So, I have more pictures from the week, but they are still on my camera...enjoy these for now.

Synchronized Swimming Skit
This video was taken by Erin Clark in my ward. The skit was done for a talent show by David and some of his friends. It was absolutely hilarious! Follow the link to the right under "PICTURES".

10 things NOT to ask a pregnant woman
A fascinating thing happens when a woman becomes pregnant. She places a giant target on her tummy, inviting comments from the entire peanut gallery of society.
I know most people mean well -- there just aren't that many tactful remarks in the reservoir when talking to a woman who looks ready to deliver, at any minute, something weighing seven or more pounds. Beyond "You look great!" or "Boy, you carry small" (two compliments I can't get enough of, even if they're vicious lies), most comments degenerate to the size of your belly, the size of your family, or the size of your sanity to handle so many children.
Here are the Top 10 doozies, all of which I've heard during the course of my pregnancies. Stay away from them. Stay away from pregnant women in general. We're emotional, we're overheating in 30-degree weather, and if you say something insensitive we just might clobber you with our diaper bag.
1. "Are you pregnant?"
Well, yes, it seems that way most of the time. But sometimes I am not, I just had a baby six months ago, and I'm still learning how to rework these abdominal muscles. Or maybe I am, but goodness, I'm only three weeks along -- is it that obvious already?
2. "Are you due, like, any day now?"
No, I still have three months to go. I just carry large. (Although I have to admit there are times when I've fibbed and said, "Yeah, due any day now" just to avoid the humiliation.)
3. "Are you having twins?"
I think every expectant mother, if blessed enough to get a two-for-one deal, would volunteer this type of information. No need to ask. There are women 6 feet tall with lovely torsos that stretch from here to Alaska. But for some of us unfortunate shorties, there is nowhere to go but straight out and all around.
4. "Is this your last? How many kids ARE you going to have?"
Please, don't ask me that right now. It's all a little too real, a little too fresh. And I don't know you. You're just bagging my groceries and watching my other children climb on the conveyor belt. So today the answer is WE'RE DONE! We're even willing to give one away at this point. But tomorrow I will love them all, and might even want three more.
5. "Are you hoping for a girl/boy?"
No. We're just hoping for a baby at this point. I'm not going to throw another child into this crazy family of ours just hoping, beyond hope, that I can dress it in pink ruffles and ballet slippers.
6. "Don't you have enough kids already?"
Of course not, we're trying to build up a football team. Or a traveling acappella octet. I'm creating an army to strip the earth of its vital resources. Besides, mine all come out as fully formed angels. We just can't get enough.
7. "Are you sure you should be eating that?"
Probably not, but at this point, five doughnuts is just what I need, so back off, Buster. And pass the chocolate cake.
8. "Do you always get this big?"
Yes, through a steady diet of doughnuts.
9. "You look miserable. How do you feel?"
Terrible, and thanks for reminding me. I could give you a rundown of the insomnia, heartburn, lower back pain, sciatic nerve pain -- and that's only at night. Pull up a chair. We've got time to talk about it, this baby is never coming out!
10. "Are you crazy?"
Absolutely. Every mother must possess a healthy dose of insanity to survive this craziness. But I'm lovin' (almost) every minute of it.

Week 6 - Project 365
Last week was a busy, but slow week. I was happy to get photo shoots of both my girls this week. I'm still editing the ones of Aliza, but they all turned out so cute! There were a few hours of sun this week that we made mad rushes to the park to enjoy, but mostly it was rainy all week. Enjoy the picture overload!
SUNDAY - Carmen with her cousins at the family bday dinner.

Aliza waiting for some bday cake.

MONDAY- Carmen and Sariah playing in the sand. It had been two whole weeks since we got to play with Sariah. We missed her!

Aliza playing in the sand. It's her favorite thing at the park.

TUESDAY - After Joy School we all went to Denny's to try to get the free Grand Slam they were giving away to everyone. But the line was out the door and through the parking lot! We left and went next door to In & Out. YUMMY!

WEDNESDAY - More pictures from Carmen photo shoot.

THURSDAY - More pictures from Aliza's photo shoot

FRIDAY - We had a talent show at church and David and some of his friends did a synchronizes swimming skit. It was HILARIOUS!!!! I will try to find video of it and post the video so you can get the full effect.

SATURDAY - David was supposed to work this day, but called and said he wanted to spend time with his girls/. ;) We're glad he did. He went to the park and had a picnic, played Go Fish (Carmen's new favorite game) and played in the sand. After this we went and bought some new movies and had a "movie theater". That's what the girls call it when we turn all the lights off and have popcorn.

SUNDAY - This week we got a new mattress for the new baby from my sister. Thanks Sarah! The girls have really had a fun time with the box it came in, as well as the mattress itself. One day it will serve it's rightful purpose, but for now, it's providing hours of entertainment for the kids.

New pictures of Carmen
Yesterday I was able to get a photo shoot in with Carmen. Despite her complaints against it, I really think she had a fun time. My neighbor has a hair salon in her house and took Carmen and gave her a little trim and then curled her hair really pretty for pictures. I think she felt like a beauty queen! Here's a sneak peak at the pictures, to see the rest, visit my flicker site. And I don't even have all of them on there yet, so keep coming back!! And some of Aliza will come shortly...

Ok - here is one of Aliza, I have so many to go through still!

Week 5 - Project 365
I have to admit that I'm pretty proud of myself for keeping this up for five whole weeks now. Let's hope I can keep doing it, because I really think it will be neat to have at the end of the year.
Monday - I taught Joy School this week. This is Carmen helping me get ready. His name is Joy Boy and he comes to visit us often. The kids LOVE to give him hugs and high fives.

Tuesday - Carmen and I worked on a project for their room. We painted a shelf and than hung it up. Carmen thought it was the neatest project.

This same day at Joy School, Carmen wrote her name all by herself for the first time! I was so proud!!! She's been practicing, but it was always tracing letters. She didn't even have to trace this time.

Wednesday - I realized Aliza's hair is longer than I thought. She has really cute curls in her hairs that make it look shorter than it really is. So this day, I gave her braids for the first time. I thought they were so CUTE! She really didn't want me to take a picture of them, so this is the best I got.

Thursday - The girls helped me pull weeds in the backyard. David has been so busy with work and church, so we decided to help him with the yard a little. They had fun making their own pile of weeds to see if their pile would be bigger than mine.

Friday - Someone left donuts at our door. It was a great surprise. My main craving during this pregnancy has been donuts, and the girls love anything with sprinkles!!! It was a yummy treat. Aliza is also showing off her strawberry shortcake tatoos. She was covered in them.

Saturday - My huge belly with only six weeks left to go. Carmen asks everyday "when will it be March?" I tell her "not soon enough!"

Despite the many donuts and the huge belly, my wedding ring still fits me! This is the first time I've worn it through my whole pregnancy. I usually take if off after 3-4 months.

Sunday - the girls playing with some bristle blocks they got from Grandma Bean for Christmas. They love making cars and airplanes out of them.
