Father's Day Craft

We spent a good two hours making some pretty fantastic looking pens for David for Father's Day. Everyone was very creative. But I must have baked them too long because they all cracked once they cooled off. I was pretty upset that the kids didn't have anything to give David as a gift. But we still have fun making them.

First Day of Summer Park Outing

This is our first summer that isn't jam packed with classes and places to be. It has been a little hard to keep the boardom at bay. On our first day of summer we went on a quick trip to the park to get out of the house. You can tell from the sky that a huge storm was coming, so we didn't get to stay long. But it was enough time to get some energy out. And although they are totally sweaty, I did get some cute pictures of the girls.

Last day of School

This school year went by so quickly! I'm not sure how this happened, but the last day of school kind of snicked up on me. Aliza was pretty excited about this day!

First/Last day comparison

Carmen wasn't so happy. She really loved 3rd grade.
But I did get her to smile

I think her first/last day picture this year is the most dramatic. She sure did grow up a lot this year.
We went to have lunch with Carmen at the 3rd grade picnic on the last day of school.

And Aliza got the Starburst award for being a Star Student who worked hard everyday!

Boy oh Boy!

I was waiting for the school year to end before moving Dallin out of his crib. He's been climbing out for several months, but he was still taking naps so wonderfully that I didn't want to jinx that. I finally decided to go ahead and remove the front of the crib. He was so excited about his new bed and new bedding! The girls were too. They would hardly let him get in his bed!
The first nap time didn't go so well. He never came out of his room, but he cried for a really long time! I went to check on him later and found him asleep on the floor.
That night at bedtime he came out of his room once and I quickly took him back. He didn't cry much but he did fall asleep the wrong way.... He has quickly figured it out and is back to being a champ at nap and bed time.

Trains, planes and automobiles! I used to get so frustrated with the girls leaving their princess figurines all over the house. Now it's trains and planes!

Fire Truck

One Saturday while out running errands we saw this fire truck on display at one of our favorite stores. The firefighters were SO kind and friendly. The kids, especially Dallin loved it!  He didn't want to leave.

** Carmen was at a friends house and missed all the fire truck fun**

Lake Day

We visited a new to us lake at Walnut Creek. It felt like summer was finally upon us and we could hardly wait for school to end.

Carmen got her own kayak and this was her first time taking it out. She's a natural! I LOVED kayaking with her! I felt like finally I was doing something that I enjoy doing, but haven't been able to do since having children. They've been so small for so long that we haven't been able to do things like this. It felt freeing to be able to kayak with my daughter! I can't wait for everyone to be big enough to do more things like this as a family.
