Charlotte's 1st grade class has been busy this Fall with field trips! First we got to visit the pumpkin patch. We got lost in the corn maze, played some pumpkin checkers, crawls through corn husk tunnels, jumped in the hays piles, picnicked under some shade trees and bounced along on the hay ride. The weather was hot and not Fall like at all. But it's always a fun time when it's spent with Charlotte.

Then the very next week, we got to visit the always beautiful Ivy Creek. We don't visit the place nearly as often as we should! The trails are gorgeous year round, and the water is fun when the temperature is warm. We need to come here more often. We walked a gorgeous trail down to the reservoir and learned all about different trees and animals.

And somewhere along the trail Dad appeared and joined us for the rest of our hike! Ivy Creek is right by his office and when he realized we were so close and he had a few minutes to spare, he decided to join us. While he wasn't really dressed for hiking, we were glad he came along!
