September

Our Bishop, who has a lake house on Lake Anna, invited all the youth and their families to play on Labor Day. It was so fun to just hang out with so many great families, enjoy the water and have one final goodbye to summer.

Carmen is in love with crew, but her hands are not. She has blisters on top of blisters!

My great friend Candace, whom I also serve with in the Relief Society presidency, is a French teacher at the high School. She was also Carmen's beehive advisor a few years ago. She was so excited that she would get to see Carmen on a regular basis. Candace has lunch duty every Thursday and always chooses to sit out front where Carmen and her friends hang out. So every week I look forward to my "Lunch duty pictures" from her!

Silly boy in church. One day we'll get him to wear a tie!

I know this doesn't seem like anything special. But we took this picture because we were getting rid of the brown chair the next day, so Dallin would have room for a desk. So many hours of rocking my babies to sleep, feeding them, reading bedtime stories and lots of snuggles occurred in this chair. It was like a giving away a part of my early motherhood. It meant I know longer have babies!

Well...except for these babies. Despite my lack of enthusiasm, David and Carmen came home with chicks! They are adorable.

Poor Dallin couldn't breath. Luckily we've got the nebulizer treatments down now and he does't put up a fight like when he was littler.

Football season has started and this year we got season tickets!! We are so excited to cheer on the Cavaliers this year.

This day I waited for Carmen at crew practice. It was an early Saturday morning practice. I took advantage of the peaceful scenery and prepared a talk I had to give the next day at church.

Sometimes I need more pictures of myself. I guess I was feeling cute this day.

Carmen's first football game. Unfortunately it was pretty rainy and they had to wear those awful rain jackets!
Soccer continues, and never seems to really end around here. Charlotte really excelled at goalie this season and I can't wait to watch how she grows in this position.
When we bought season tickets, we did so with the intent to tailgate for all the games. This was the only actual one we did, but it was super fun!

Homework...

Monticello is one of my favorite field trips to go on! This year it was Charlotte's turn.
And I love that they give them each a nickel so they can see the house on the back of the coin.

I'm still learning how to be a boy mom, but I like to think this playdate was pretty epic. These boys played laser tag, air hockey and had a water balloon fight.

More football! This time we brought our friends.

We all tagged along down to High Point, North Carolina for Carmen's first regatta. It was so amazing to finally see this girl in action. I think the rowers out on the water are look so graceful and elegant. I know they don't feel that way! This is one of the most physically demanding sports.

And her boat came in 1st! Gold medals for the 4 of them. Not a bad way to start your first rowing season. I am so proud of her.
