After two months in quarantine lockdown, we decided we needed a good distraction from the nothingness of day to day life. So, we decided to foster some puppies! Meet Gabby, Grace and Gannon. They are 7 weeks old and so adorable. They have kept us all extremely busy and have helped us overcome some Covid blues. Koda even seems to love them. We've been working on potty training, leash training and some basic obedience training. Carmen really is the heart behind all of that work. We had from for 2 weeks before they were all adopted and it was so hard to see them go. But we are thrilled they found their forever homes.
My grandpa Teerlink is definitely in his last days. We've been over to visit a lot and each time he is a little less lucid. I'm including some pictures of him that I really love. Him with his sweetheart, and then two from his mission.
Despite Covid, we were still able to have a lovely memorial service for him. Only a few people were allowed at the graveside and we all had to stay socially distant. And a few day later we were able to have a wonderful virtual memorial at which 100s of family member and friends were able to join in.
The end of school finally arrived, actually 2 weeks earlier than planned thanks to the Coronavirus. These last 2.5 months of virtual school have been so hard for everyone to make a quick adjustment to something that has never been done before! Hopefully things are back to normal in the Fall. Dallin's class had an in person dance party in one of his classmates cul-de-sac. His teacher, Mrs. Robinson loves to dance and they decided to give her a surprise dance party send off to summer. It was so fun for the kids to see their friends and teacher again in person after so long. Of course everyone remained socially distant and many wore masks, even though we were outside.
And here are the 1st/Last day of school pictures. The last day signs state that they survived quarantined!
The saddest part about all this coronavirus was that Charlotte and David didn't get their proper graduation ceremonies from 5th grade and grad school. So we took things into our own hands and did it ourselves. Aliza gave a great speech to Charlotte and advice on entering middle school. And I gave a speech to David. Caps and diplomas were even present! We had cake to celebrate and then went down to UVA grounds for a family walk.
With no "essential" businesses open many people have resorted to the home haircut... it took a while to convince Dallin to let me do it, but he finally relented. And he wasn't happy about the results!
Getting the grass mowed apparently has become a team effort...
And the front yard camping continues!! This time they convinced me to join and I wasn't so happy about it by around 2am. It started raining, and we hadn't put the fly on, so I woke up soaking wet...
After Grandpa's passing we had a big clean up of his yard to get the house on the market. We all worked to make the yard and flower beds up to Grandma's standards. She always had the most beautiful gardens.
And Aliza got her braced off!! I love her beautiful smile.
Charlotte and David have gotten into the habit of making cookies every Sunday. No one is complaining about that!
