The warm summer days keep brining us back to our favorite swimming hole. This time we came prepared to stay a while and get fully wet! There is something magical about a small secluded spot with such inviting waters.
It was so inviting that I even had to jump in...
I hope these kids are best friends forever!
I came across this passage somewhere and it really hit home for me. What if 2020 was really a year to change us, to get our priorities in order...to give us 20/20 vision. Will we remember the things we've learned during these months?
We were all feeling a little bit of cabin fever and decided to get away to a new cabin...one up in the Smokey Mountains. Gatlinburg was calling our name! And it was such a nice respite from home. And it was as if COVID ceased to exist. No one was wearing mask and social distancing was not a concern. It was kind of nice to feel things were normal again. We visited the Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum, which was interesting.
We hiked along the river and splashed around quite a bit. Those rocks were so slippery!
I feel like COIVD has taught us at least one important thing and that is how to play games together! The kids are just at the perfect age for playing some really fun games.
We spent a day up at Anakeesta where some chose to ride the rail runner down the mountain and other chose to sit and take in the view from way above Gatlinburg. It was so gorgeous at the top of the mountain and these tree walk was spectacular as well. We had to ride to the top on a ski lift and it felt pretty steep most of the way up. We ended the month with a great evening of swimming and eating with our friends the Sorensens. They are such a great family and their kids all match up with ours, so everyone always has a friend.
I don't remember what this last picture is from, but looks like we're eating outside somewhere on the Downtown Mall. It must have been right about the time some restaurants were opening back up.
