February 2021

For Valentines Day David planned a lovely dinner for us all. He shopped, decorated, cooked and cleaned all on his own. We were all very impressed and felt super loved. And that steak was one of the best I've ever tasted! He sure is a special guy and I really appreciate how meaningful and intentional he always strives to be for us.

Charlotte had an exciting month because she got her braces off! I always love a good before/after picture and this one did not disappoint. So much growth and change in one picture. She is so beautiful and now has a glowing smile.

Our next home renovation project was the half bath off of the family room. I've not liked this bathroom from the very first time I saw it but way to scared to try updating it myself. But after 5 years I finally got the courage and started by ripping out the vanity. I made a lot of trips to Lowes to pick out tile and fixtures and a new vanity. My dad came over and taught me how to cut tile and lay it properly. This tile was a labor of love because of its mosaic pattern. But I think it's so pretty and love the way it turned out.

I switched out the ugly light. After doing several other lights throughout the house, this is now an easy job to do.

Another new to me tool was the nail gun and getting new baseboard installed. I won't mention how any times I messed up the angled cuts for the corners, but they are all in and fit beautifully. I didn't get any pictures of my vanity install, but that was a learning experience too.

Another great before/after picture. I absolutely love the way it turned out!! And new larger square mirror has been ordered and will be here in a few weeks.

A sibling love picture...just because

We also decided to update all the door knobs and hinges in the house from the outdated brass, to all matte black. The kids actually got into this project and took over the entire thing. Aliza became a pro at the door knobs and Charlotte and Dallin were amazing at switching out all the hinges. And what a difference such a little thing can make to the entire home.

Another light fixture was updated over the kitchen table. We are putting our touch on this home and I love it!
