Week 19 - Project 365

Ok, so this is REEEEAAAAAALY late, but I still have to post it.  It's almost time to post this weeks pictures, but these are from last week! And totally out of order.

Charlotte is getting to be very smiley. I love it! You can't help but be happy when you're holding a smiling baby. She becomes so captivated with you and smiles at every silly thing you do. And she makes those cute cooing sounds back at you. I love it! I think this is the first baby that I've really enjoyed the baby stage. I've always thought I hated the newborn stage of kids, but I really love it this time. Maybe because I'm not the nervous new mother and I'm a little more sure of myself. Charlotte has been a lot of fun to have around. This picture was on her 2 month old mark.
Aliza is currently going through the "nap or no nap" phase of toddlerhood. Somedays she is fine without a nap and other days she is beyond cranky! This day she didn't have a nap and around 6pm she crashed on the couch. The poor thing....
One evening I discovered Aliza in the family room like this...that's a huge bag of chocolate chips, that she managed to get out of the freezer! She was helping herself.
These are the tulips David got me for Mother's Day. We celebrated a few days early because his grandmother passed away and he went to Ohio for the funeral. So I spent Mother's Day without him, which was kind of sad, seeing I didn't really get the day off. Although my friends Sam and Melinda had me over for a delicious dinner! I guess having to spend the day alone made it special in a different way. I did have to do EVERYTHING, but I had a good attitude about it all as I did it. I felt so blessed to be a mother and for the beautiful girls that I have. I'm not sure how to really express how I felt that day, but I was happy to have spent the day alone, despite how awful I thought it was going to be.
This was the best picture we got before Charlotte's blessing. Everyone was crying and not happy about having to take a picture. I'm sad I didn't get one of her alone in her dress.  Maybe I can still get one before she outgrows the dress. By the way, I bought that new shirt because I thought it made me look skinny, but I look huge in this picture!

I'm really sad that I didn't get an actual picture, but on Saturday Carmen got a HUGE wade of this gum stuck in her hair. We were getting ready for a birthday party and already running late. After she got the gum stuck in her hair she continued to chew it!! So she was chewing on gum...stuck in her hair. Once she realized that it wasn't coming out, she went in the bathroom and tried washing it out. So now the chewed in gum was hardened by the water. THEN she decides to come tell me about it. I started envisioning the horrible mess the peanut butter was going to make trying to get the gum out and then having to put her in the bathtub to wash her hair. At this point I pretty much assumed we would miss the party.

BUT, I quickly GOOGLED "how to get gum out of hair" and it said to use this wonderful product.....Mousse.

Yes, it worked like a charm and her hair wasn't all oooey gooey, just moussey. (are those words?) GOOGLE is my best friend. (some of you may remember the nail polish fiasco) And it's a good thing we weren't too late or Carmen would have missed the Robot parade!!! She got to make her own robot and parade around with her friends. It really was so cute, as odd as it may sound. :)
On our way home from our weekend getaway, we stopped at IKEA. We bought this step stool that the girls could help at the counter without having to be sitting on the counter and making a mess. It instantly turned into a picnic table and has been used as a table/desk since than. It has yet to be used as a stool. Oh wait, I'm remembering now that Carmen did use it as a stool - to be able to open the garage door to get outside! AHH, I can no longer trap them inside.
Now that it's turning summer, this is how we will be spending most of our days. We are so fortunate to live on the court and be able to have so much room to play.
One day playing outside I looked up at Aliza and she was riding this bike all by herself! She had never even been on this bike before. She just jumped on and started peddling. She's so independent like that. If she wants to do something, she figures a way out to do it. She is also obsessed with pajama's lately. That's all she wants to wear and will go through several pairs a day! She is always changing them. Then she gets mad at bedtime when she doesn't have any clean jammies to wear. I guess I've got to hide all the pj's!
This is how we celebrated Cinco de Mayo - TACO BELL!!! I remember going there last year too. I guess this will be a tradition. This time we invited all our Joy School friends.

Lucy is obsessed with jammies too--she leaves them all over the house and changes them at least three times a day.
