For Carmen's birthday party we decided to have a pinkalicious theme. It's based off of a story about a girl who eats so many pink cupcakes that she turns pink! I knew it was going to be such a fun idea for a her birthday party.
This was the invitation I designed to give to all her friends. I think it turned out way cute!
This was the table all decorated with pink goodies.
Pink drinks, pink candy....
And of course pink cupcakes!
And pink goodie bags filled with pink bubble gum, candy necklace and pink popcorn.
My three beautiful girls dressed in their pink dresses waiting for the friends to arrive.
The kids colored Pinkalicious coloring pages until everyone arrived. Then I read them the Pinkalicious story so they would understand the party more. After the story, we played musical cupcakes.
Then we all had pizza and pink drinks!
Her friends sang Happy Birthday to her and she blew out the candles. Then opened presents.
In total we had 17 kids there, some are not pictured. This was a kids only party, the parents were able to drop them off. I LOVED this!!! There were no parents lingering around and getting in the way. And the kids were perfect little angels. There was complete order the entire time and they all used their good manners. Their parents should be proud! Overall, it was a great party and I think everyone left having had a good time. I know I did! Carmen sure does have some great friends.
Here she had just opened a package from Oma.
And she got a new desk, mermaid Barbie doll and movie and some new clothes from mom and dad.
And we've been telling her for the past year that once she turns five, she can't ask to be carried anymore! No more "uppy" we've been telling her. So, here she is with daddy and her last "uppy"! It's been a week now and she hasn't asked yet.

I LOVE that book! That's such a great idea for a party! I might copy it for Jessica or Amy sometime. :)
What a great party!! Whenever I ask BG what kind of party she wants, she usually just says "Pink" so I may have to steal this idea. I'm going to have to find that book too.
We also love that book and read it almost everyday. So maybe Marie's 5th birthday will also be a pink one! Great job with all the decorations and goodie bags. I'm impressed that the party went so smoothly with so many kids. Was it hard to get the parents to not stay? At Kyle's last birthday several parents stayed..maybe because it was their child's first time at our house. ANyway, sounds like it ran smoother without the parents!
What a fun birthday idea! Looks like they all had lots of fun.
My 7 (almost 8) year old, just informed me that I don't carry him around any more and he wanted to know why. I told him he can sit on my lap any time, but he was too big to carry now, and I am too pregnant to want to carry him.
What a cute party and you did a great job! We are starting to plan Taylor's party and I like the idea of no parents to keep it less crowded. Did you specify other than on the invitation where it says "drop off"? Beautiful cupcakes!
so glad to hear it went well! i still think you are so brave. :) It is amazing how fast they are growing, and Carmen is a great girl!
