Aliza's first day of Pre-school

Today was Aliza's first day of preschool. I've been so worried all summer about how this day was going to play out. Especially when she threw up out of nervousness when we signed her up for day camp at Callaway Gardens. But we talked about it a lot and how the day would go, and she got to go meet her teacher last week, which I think really helped ease some of her butterflies. She is going to Northridge Preschool and her teacher is Mrs. Brickmeier and Miss Shifflett.

This morning she was so excited! She took a bath before school and as I was brushing her hair, she asked me if it looked perfect. I told her it did and then she replied that now she was definitely excited to start school. We took her to her classroom and helped her find her spot and got her settled and then left her there without any fears or tears. At least on her part, I was teary but tried desperately to hide it from her!

So excited to finally have her own school

She wanted desperately to have a "fist pump" picture like Carmen's, but couldn't quite nail it. You can still sense her excitement though!
When I picked her up, she was all smiles. She told me about her new friends she had made, a little craft they did, all about snack time and lunch time and said her favorite part was circle time. So when I asked if she liked preschool she said, "It was better than I thought it was going to be!!" I just love her. She has such an excitement for life and I love the way she describes things with such passion.
Aliza with her cute little friend Chloe, who is also in her class. And of course Charlotte had to be included as well.

The funny thing about Charlotte is, I think she really missed Aliza! No matter what I asked her what she wanted to do she just said no to it. Go to store? New shoes? Haircut? McDonalds? She didn't want to do any of that stuff. But if I asked her if she wanted to go pick up Aliza she nodded enthusiastically. It's good to know she loves her big sister!

Isn't Carmen's teacher Mrs. Shifflett too? Are they related? Aliza is such a sweetie.
