The Bedtime Fairy

Many of you may have never heard of the bedtime fairy, unless you happen to spend sleepless nights with anywhere from 3-6 people in your bed. And it's been going on for about seven years...

I had never heard of her either, until our pediatrician told me about her. I just knew we had to let the Fairy know about our challenge of keeping little people in their own bed at night time. She works kind of like the Tooth Fairy, but instead of money she leaves a tiny treat or surprise if you stay in your bed all night long. She's come twice now. Once while we were at the grocery store and once while we were at church. The girls are absolutely amazed by her! Let's cross our fingers that this will work. Now if only there was a potty training fairy....

PS - I should add that now that the girls have gotten a hang of things a little better, the fairy only comes after you've stayed in your own bed for 3 nights in a row.

May mayhem

The month of May hasn't been to adventurous. I think we are all focused on getting through the month and being done with school. Aliza is already done and Carmen has 8 more days. We are certainly ready for summer! (although I am always ready for school to start up again!)

Charlotte loves her baby brother
The girls love to help make cookies with Mommy.
It took exactly two month before this happened. A flower in his hair, bracelet on one arm and ginormous gaudy ring on the other hand.
Dallin really does love his sisters. His faces lights up with the biggest smile when he sees them.
 And he tolerates so much....
...usually with a big smile.
Oma came to take us out to dinner one night. It was a special treat.
While taking pictures one day for a friend Charlotte and Carmen wanted in on the action as well. I just snapped a few of each of them, but they turned out super cute!

Carmen's 1st grade concert - this was right before the show with her classmate Cade. I could never get a good picture during the show, but I loved all the songs they sang.

Fun with Instagram

We have a lot of fun with my camera phone. The girls are always asking me to take a picture of them! I love it!

I love Aliza's freckles and I love how silly Charlotte is all the time.

Charlotte with her best buddy, Eli. We are so sad his family is moving away in a few weeks.

 Fun with the self-portrait feature

Look who found his thumb. Just precious!!

"I have THREE sisters!!! Oh dear me!"
I just can't get enough of this sweet boy. He is smothered in kisses all day long from me and his sisters.
I asked Charlotte the other day what she wants to be when she grows up. She said she wants to be just like Aliza. She looks up to Aliza so much! And she often refers to Aliza as her friend, rather than her sister. Sisters truly are life long friends!
Aliza with her Knuffle Bunny - we love those books.
It's a shame this boy doesn't get any attention.... He is adored by his sisters. Carmen is particularly helpful with him. She held Dallin while I finished eating my dinner at Red Robin.

Aliza Graduates from Preschool

Aliza graduated from Northridge Preschool on May 17th. They had a little concert and then a graduation ceremony. She was so excited for the day to come. They had been practicing the songs for several weeks and she would love to sing them at home for us.

 Pre-ceremony pictures

 The wind blown look!

I love this girl and I'm so proud of the progress she made this year. And I'm very excited to watch her grow more as she starts Kindergarten in the Fall. (Carmen took this picture!)

Those tiny caps and gown are so cute!

Mother's Day

My Mother's Day was the best one by far. I slept in, was made a delicious breakfast in bed, got the Forget Me Not book and Willow Tree and also many wonderful handmade cards from the girls, took another nap and then enjoyed a wonderful steak dinner prepared by David and my dad. My family made me feel so loved and I felt grateful for each one of my special blessings.

Bunny Money

Carmen really wants a pet bunny. She has been asking for one for a while, so we finally took her to the pet store to get an idea of what one would cost. Turns out the bunny cost $40 dollars, plus a cage is $50, plus food... it was adding up quickly. We told her that if she could save enough for the bunny, we would buy the cage and food. We felt pretty confident that she would never be able to save that much money, or at least not before her interest changed. But everyday for nearly two weeks after school she had a Kool-aid stand. She made nearly $25 off that Kool-aid! She is quit the entrepreneur, which she gets from her dad. That money plus some birthday money she had got her really close to her goal. We started to get a little worried that she would actually do it and we would become the not so happy owners of a rabbit! But she has since been spending a little here and a little there that her stash is dwindling.  But we sure were proud of her eagerness to work hard for something she really wanted.
