Having now lived in Charlottesville for over three years, I have pretty much resigned myself to be a UVA fan. Although I had never attended a game until this past weekend when BYU came to play right here in my hometown and I had to cheer for my Alma Mater! It pretty much felt like the event of the century among all our LDS friends. Everyone we knew was going and wearing the white and blue. Babysitters were extremely hard to come by. The game started at 3:30 and we were there plenty early in order to find a good parking spot, which ended up being in front of some frat house and cost us 20 bucks....

David and I ready to cheer our hearts out for BYU. And it was blazing HOT! The first quarter ended 0 to 0.
Just as the 2nd quarter started these dark clouds rolled in pretty quickly. The game had to be delayed due to lightning. The entire stadium has to be emptied.... we at first decided to just wait it out standing in the parking lot. But then the wind picked up and the rains came down!
We spent the next two hours in this very crowded hallway with some people who were very friendly people and came from all over the county. And others who were very drunk and a little too friendly, if you know what I mean.
Still in good spirits during the rain delay. (which hadn't occurred anytime in the past 59 years)
Finally the game was back on and my sister and I were ready to cheer the Cougars on again. The rain didn't hold off very long and we did in fact leave the game soaking wet and freezing cold. But it was a great time - even though BYU lost 16 to 19.
This was my favorite play from the game. Crazy!
The night before the game the team held a wonderful fireside at the chapel. They shared great stories and testimonies, they sang songs in English and Tongan and they played the piano. It was wonderful to see that side of the players!
