Putt Putt Golf

A funny thing happened on the way to the park.... we never made it there! I knew we needed to get out of the house because the kids were at each others necks. I had been sick for two days and could barely get out of bed! They all had cabin fever. So, I loaded them in the car and headed for the park. But on the way, we noticed that putt putt was open so we stopped there instead! It was quite hilarious, but we all had a good time.

Of course we had to have ice cream afterwards from Korh's Brothers.

Sunglasses and Super Heros

There always seems to be some super cute pictures that never fit into a specific blog post. Here are
some of those.

These two became like peas and carrots this year while Carmen and Aliza were at school. They really are so sweet together. And Dallin is already very protective of Charlotte. These pictures were on the way to the bus stop. They had to wear their sunglasses from the Easter Bunny. And of course Dallin does not stray far from his lawn mower.

Dallin is still far from potty training, but this day he showed a lot of interest in using the toilet. His sisters all wanted to cheer him on! This will certainly be used as blackmail on day.
He loves this Cars book and wants to read it everyday
She is growing up WAY TOO FAST!
 With daddy's hat
David took Dallin on his first father/son camp out, so us girls had a girls night. We ate dinner at Sticks and then went to Bloop for frozen yogurt. (I never saw a single picture from the camp out....)
Several years ago Oma made capes for Carmen and Aliza. Finally, Charlotte and Dallin got their own capes. Dallin is convinced that his makes him SUPER FAST! He runs around the kitchen so fast that I can't get a decent picture of him.
These next two pictures are two of my most favorite pictures of Dallin ever. He loves his dump truck and he loves that cape.

Charlotte hasn't gotten as excited about her cape as Dallin has, but she does like to wear it while riding her bike.

Caverns

For Memorial Day we took the kids to Luray Caverns. They had never been to any caverns and I felt like they needed to see them since this area has a lot of them. Pictures are extremely hard to capture in the actual caves. These are pretty much the only two that turned out. It was a fun activity that kept us out of the hot sun that day.
Dallin wasn't so much into the caverns. He kept getting in trouble to touching the stalagmites and trying to climb on them....

Preschool Concert and Graduation

Sandwiched between her big sisters plays was Charlotte's preschool concert and graduation. It was an exciting day for her! She sang her little heart out to each of those adorable songs.

And then my baby girl graduated from preschool. No matter how many graduations I attend, or who's graduation it is - that Pomp and Circumstance song will always make me tear up. As I did for Charlotte as she walked down the aisle to the stage.
Hugging her teacher Mrs. James
 Hugging her aide Mrs. Andreason
 All smiles afterwards!

We are so proud of you, Charlotte. New and exciting things await you as you begin elementary school. I have no doubt that you will always be surrounded by amazing friends. You are kind to everyone and you will be successful as you try hard at all you do.

Here is her 1st/Last day of preschool pictures. I love to compare the physical growth!

School Plays

The end of the year brought school plays and concerts for each of the kids. Carmen auditioned for and got one of 3 lead rolls in her 3rd grade play. We were so shocked because she made it very clear that she did not want to audition. Yet, she came home from school with exciting news one day - she had gotten the part of the Beetle!  She worked for weeks memorizing her lines and did an amazing job!!

Aliza, also participated in her 1st grade play, but was perfectly happy to swing and sway in the background. And she did a great job too. She practiced her songs for weeks and was excited to finally perform them for us.

Preschool Carnival

Charlotte's preschool had a really fun end of the year carnival.  It was held during school so I just had Charlotte and Dallin with me, which made for some super fun times. They really loved the bubble station.
And Charlotte was so protective of Dallin the entire time, making sure he never wandered too far from her.

At the end, a wildlife educator talked to the kids about some of "God's Creatures". And everyone got to pet the wolf!

And to end the carnival in the right way, everyone got giant snow cones!!
We have loved our experiences with both Aliza and Charlotte at Northridge Preschool! It's such a sweet and loving environment. Hopefully, Dallin will get the opportunity to attend there when it's his time for preschool.
