We have lived in Charlottesville for 4 years and finally made our first trip to Ivy Creek. I've driven by it a million times, but have never had the right moment to go and explore. Finally, this particular Saturday, David was out of town and we were looking for something to do. So we packed up and headed there, not really knowing what to expect. Well, it was BEAUTIFUL!!! And we only made in about a 1/4 of a mile before stopping at the stream and spent the rest of our time playing in the water.
Dallin had fallen asleep in the car, so I carried him down the path, thinking he'd wake up soon. But he never really did. I finally was able to wake him up and then he was so excited about all the rocks and sticks!
We plan to make many more trips here from now on! And maybe next time we'll get past the creek.
