Looking back at the month, I now know why I'm so exhausted! This month has been go go go since the beginning. Wrapping up the school year is always a super busy time of year.
Aliza had her last elementary school concert and she even sang in a little group.
I volunteered at field day. I'm always quick to snag the water slide time slots because, let's face it, it's the most fun spot to be!
Kindergartner's were lucky to get there before the end of the slide became too muddy, but Charlotte wasn't so lucky.
We attended Aliza's 5th grade graduation. She looked so beautiful all dressed up for school.
We are so proud of her and her efforts to always do a good job on her school work. It comes naturally to her. She's an amazing writer and feel badly if she gets anything other than an A. She's a great friend and always a teachers favorite.
Last day of school pictures:
Schools out and it's time for summer camps and vacations and high adventures and all things FUN! Carmen was my t-shirt model for the young women's camp shirts this year. They are slightly on the large side and more of a long sleeve shirt than I had hoped for, but I think the girls will like them.
Some family friends of ours were abroad for 6 months and finally came home. Carmen and her friend Annalise wanted to decorate their door as a welcome back surprise.
And as we came home from decorating their door, there was a surprise on our door for me. My ministering sister dropped off this "pre-camp survival kit" for me. I've put so many long hours into planning camp and she knew just what I needed to get through these last few days before actual camp.
Our ward young women went on a road trip to Palmyra, NY to visit the church sites. It felt so strong to be sending Carmen so far away not be going with her, but it was so good for Carmen. She even gave a little presentation in the Sacred Grove, sharing about her distant ancestors who lived in the Joseph Smith house for some time. Very fascinating information!
All the Beehives!
And all of the YW who went on the trip. We have such a large youth group. We've probably got just as many boys too.
Car ride with some of the best leaders!
And poor Koda was missing Carmen terribly. One night I after I had tucked the kids into bed, I was looking all over for Koda. When I couldn't find him, I finally looked in Carmen's room, where he was sound asleep at the foot of her bed. He missed her a lot!
Charlotte and Aliza got to attend a Stake Activity Days adventure at Sherando Lake. Aliza was dying because she just barely missed getting to go with the YW to Palmyra and was the oldest girl at this activity. She is SO over Primary and ready to move on to more exciting things.
One evening while putting last minute touches on camp planning, my sweet Aliza brought me a warm brownie and glass of milk. I love that she is old enough to bake by herself now and does a great job at it!
Every summer we make a bucket list of things we want to do. I think it's the same sort of things every year, like tie-dye is always on the top of the list. I don't have a picture of the final products, but they get better every year.
Packed and loaded and heading off to Girls Camp! This is my 3rd year as director and I just love it so much. There's so much value in spending time in nature and reflecting on the gospel along with pushing yourself to learn and do new and hard things.
My assistant director, Missy, is amazing. I really couldn't pull this all off without her. And she makes everything fun. I laugh so much with her. I'm going to let the pictures speak for themselves. We hiked, canoed, did service, rock climbed, crafted, had a lot of rain and were fed spiritually by many fabulous people.
As a bonus: Not only do I get to spend the week with Carmen, but with my dad too. He came this year to help with canoes. And he may have done some Zumba too.
An advantage of being the directors daughter is that you get to go out on the lake after everyone leaves to take down the obstacle course.
A disadvantage of being the directors child....you've got trash duty after everyone leaves. This garbage truck smelled horrific.
Leaving camp, we decided to take the scenic route home and it did not disappoint! Holy smokes, look at those clouds. We were high above the clouds at Raven's Roost.

We came home to an empty house because everyone else had already left for family reunion in Utah. So we had a night of pampering with face masks, pedicures and watching the new Jumanji movie.
