January wasn't too eventful of a month around here. We decided to finally check out Ragged Mountain for a family hike. We actually went twice - the first time we brought Koda and no dogs were allowed. The second time, we made it maybe 100 yards down the trail and decided it was way too muddy to keep going. Perhaps one day we'll be successful.
David has been working on beefing up his resume and asked me to take some new head shots of him. I think he's pretty handsome and everyone should want to hire him! I also really enjoyed helping him make his resume look more professional.
Just after the new year we scheduled a tour of the new Richmond Temple site. What a blessing this is going to be to our area. I remember when it was announced a few years ago. We were driving in the car and listening to conference on the radio. I cried real tears of joy when I heard the news.
For Christmas Dallin got some pocket knives and David wanted to give him a lesson on knife safety before just letting him lose with them. They whittled some sticks into the fire place for practice.
We've also taken on some pretty big home DIY projects. The first being staining the banister to match the floors that were refinished nearly 3 years ago. This wasn't so easy and I don't think we'll ever do it again. And if we ever are foolish enough to try again, we learned some good lessons.
Carmen was invited for a surprise ski day for her friend Jasmine's 16th birthday. It actually took a lot of planning, but I think it was so fun for the girls. Carmen had never been skiing before, so she was super nervous. But luckily her dad was willing to tag along and her friends were great help as well. David decided to live out his old glory days and try snow boarding. They were covered in bruised and hurting for days afterwards.
