With COVID in full swing, it seemed that there hadn't been a high adventure in a long while for the youth in our ward. So David and some friends got together and planned a couple day hiking / camping trip on the Appalachian Trail. The plan was for Carmen, David and Aliza to attend from our family. Carmen backed out at the last minute, so it was just David and Aliza. It was a physically hard trip, but I think they both had a good time.

March 2021
March always starts off with birthday celebrations for this boy. Dallin turned 9 this month and he really only had one thing on his birthday list - a painting that he had had his eye on for months at Target. He was ecstatic to see it in the pile of presents. I adore his appreciation for art.
His teacher, Mrs. Straum, who shares the same birthday as him dropped by with a gift for Dallin. It was a book that he promptly started reading right out in the driveway. It was only their second time meeting in person since school is still all virtual.
We started the piñata tradition last year during Covid with Carmen's birthday and it's been one that we've continued throughout Covid. Dallin had to have a taco one because this boy is crazy about TACOS.
Next up was Charlottes birthday! Blogger wants to add these photos backwards... she got a paining experience that we both got to do together. She show this Northern Lights one and we had a good time trying to follow along.
She was also our last one to get a Covid Piñata. It was one year ago on March 13th, just after her birthday, that everything shut down. Our driveway is a mess because we had emptied out the garage to reseal the floors.
Probably her greatest gift was she got the go back to in person school for the first time in a year ON HER BIRTHDAY! It was a pretty exciting day for everyone.
First day back to in person school:
Soccer started back in full swing, which was wonderful after having not played in the Fall. Charlottes still favorite position is goalie.
And finally Dallin got to go back to school! He gets to go everyday while, while the girls just get to go Mondays and Wednesdays. The rest of their time is still virtual. Masks are required for school.
Another light replaced, this one I couldn't go myself because it was too high. We had the painters do it while they were here touching up the house.
We've been getting so many eggs! We'll soon be giving the chickens aways when we sell the house. Part of me is sad that we won't have fresh eggs, but another part of me is happy not to deal with those stinky chickens anymore.
And...I finally got my first COVID vaccine! I'm halfway to being fully vaccinated!!
