This was a quick shot I got of Charlotte while preparing for a fun newborn photo session. I loved the dramatic lighting of the picture.
This giant rose bush in our yard is lucky to still be around. Ever since we moved in, a year ago, I thought this bush was the ugliest, most monsterous looking bush I had ever seen. I wanted to cut it down and pull the whole thing out. But honestly I was scarred it. It's thorny and massive! But come May of this year, these beautiful rose buds bloomed and I fell in love with the bush. They were such a vibrant color of pink and had such a great smell to them. So, it's till there in our front yard, taking over the view of the front of our house. So it's life has been spared, however, it will be pruned quit extensively after all the blooms have fallen off. Oh, and the lovely girl in front just makes for a pretty picture!
We really enjoyed the wonderful May weather, just nice enough to play outside and blow bubbles.
Charlotte is always excited to go to the bus stop to pick up Carmen from school. She gets so excited as soon as she sees the bus come up the street and comes running, yelling "BUS BUS!". Then Carmen and Charlotte bee line it for each other and always embrace in the sweetest of hugs! It makes me smile everyday.
I'm always envious of those families that take such cute pictures on those special momentous day. You know the ones - Christmas, Easter, birthdays, special occasions, MOTHER's DAY! Well, after some begging and pleading, David finally conceded to take a picture... but no one else was really up to it either. This was the best we got - so typical!
Aliza wanted to make a cute little heart with her hands. I love this girl!
Painting, always a fun pastime.
She sell sea shells down by the... sidewalk. Last summer when we went to the Outer Banks, the girls collected buckets full of sea shells. They've sat in our garage ever since. One day Carmen got the great idea to sell them. And they've been selling them every chance they get. Ten cents per shell! This particular day was a neighborhood yard sell weekend. We didn't have a sale set up, but the girls still put up their little table with shells. Every time one of the neighbor kids sold something, they ran to our house to spend their money on shells! It's was pretty amusing.
I think if you added up all the times they have sold shells at $.10 a piece, they've made more than $10. Carmen is a little entrepreneur, she gets that from her dad!
