For our Thanksgiving this year we traveled back to California! It was our first trip back since moving a year and a half ago. Needless to say, we were very excited to see some old friends. Carmen was almost beside herself with the excitement of seeing Sariah again. They wasted no time, and were fast friends again. Within minutes of us arriving at their house, these two were in the backyard swinging in the hammock and chatting away. I have no clue what they were chatting about, but I have to admit, it made my heart swell as I saw Carmen being so happy! The time here in Virginia has not been easy for Carmen and I just knew she finally felt at ease with her best friend at her side.
It was also wonderful for me to see my friends as well. I sat for two days on Danelle's couch also just chatting away. And I felt much the same way Carmen felt with her friend at her side. We were able to go out for dinner for some adult time with some great friends. And it was as if no time had passed at all. We wish we could have seen more of our Mountain House friends!
Charlotte's breakfast of champions! She insisted on two bowels of cereal, fruit and milk.
Carmen writing her letter to Santa
Grandma Bean taught Carmen how to make Hummingbird food
And she read the girls stories
And we played a lot of games
Although she has flown before, this was Charlotte's first time really being able to understand it. She loved having her own seat and kept herself abreast on all emergency instructions.
The entire trip was very relaxing. Shamefully, I didn't take any pictures on Thanksgiving. I guess I was too busy eating all the wonderful food. My sister-in-law always does a wonderful job and makes everything so tastey and beautiful! We really enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching movies, playing games and eating a lot food.

That sounds like such a fun trip. I'm impressed that you said that it was a relaxing trip because traveling with my kids (mostly just the boys) is not relaxing! I guess traveling will be better once they get older. I'm glad you guys got to spend time with such close friends and have such a great time.
