January Little Things

Back in September of last year, I was called to be the Stake Young Women's Camp Director.  I completely love this calling, but it has taken every spare second of time that I have! So, now I'm playing "blog catch up".  Here is January in a nutshell:

Well, technically, this was New Years Eve.... David planned out an amazingly fun party with Minute to Win It games. I think everyone had a lot of fun and were all quite competitive!

The new year meant we moved to 9am church, which I was really not looking forward to getting up for. But then we got home and I enjoyed a looooong nap snuggled up in my brand new AMAZING sheets! I felt pretty good about 9am church after that.

This is literally all the snow we got ALL winter. (of course we didn't know that at the time this picture was taken... or else we may have enjoyed it more) You can still see the grass... it was only just enough to cover everything.

Koda Bear with Koda Bear, his name sake

My mom turned 60 this year. For her gift, I spent several weeks contacting anyone who has ever been my moms friend in some big or small way! They all sent in memories they had of her and it was so much fun to read them all. Seriously, one of my most favorite gifts I ever given someone.

This guy was supposed to be getting ready for bed when I walked in on him like this! He cracks me up all the time.

One evening we found ourselves at Best Buy and just had to try out the virtual reality glasses. I volunteered to go first, thank goodness there are no pictures of me. The guy had me climbing mountains in a rain forest. It was pretty fascinating how real it felt.  The kids got to chase off dinosaurs!

These two either love each other or can't stand each other.

But Koda definitely keeps up entertained.

We've had so many friends over this school year. It's been a nice change of pace for all the previous years of not having found good friends.

And this happened with Miss Charlotte....

She also got to attend a fantastic evening of Great to be 8 with her primary class, in preparation for being baptized this year.
With all the girls in school, me and my favorite little boy spend a lot of time together! This day he got a new hair cut, with "spike-y" hair.

And after much much much convincing and a little trickery, Dallin decided to play soccer this Spring.  I kept asking him if he'd like to play soccer but he really wasn't interested. But I went ahead and lied to him and told him I had signed him up.... well then he was so excited and couldn't wait to get his cleats and a soccer ball. So off to the store we went. This was the day we bought all his gear and he had to try everything on right away. You can't see them, but there are shin guards under those pants.  And as I'm snapping these pictures, I'm mentally reminding myself to REALLY sign him up for soccer before it's too late.
