Spring Break - Horse Day

On Sunday we woke up early and made the drive to Melbourne, where David grew up. He wanted to visit the ward and hopefully see some old family friends. I think he was most excited about seeing the Samuelson Family. Doug Samuelson was and still is a great mentor and example for David while growing up. He was his Young Men's leader and really made a big impact on his life. It was an honor for me to spend the afternoon with them!
They invited us over to lunch, which the girls weren't a bit excited about that because they just wanted to get back to Disney World! But then he let us know they have HORSES!!!! Well, the girls could hardly wait to get there.  We promptly headed out to see them as soon as we got there. Doug loaded the girls (and Shadow) in the back of his golf cart thingy... and took us out to find the horses.
Oh boy, what a hit this was for the kids. No one was afraid! Everyone fed them carrots and followed them wherever they went.

Given the choice to either head back to Disney or camp out the entire week with the horses, Carmen opted to camp out! No surprise! We peeled her away and said our goodbyes. I only wish I had gotten a good picture of David with Brother and Sister Samuelson.
