Spring Break/Disney Trip - The Resort

Man alive, the excitement the few weeks building up to our Disney trip was so palpable! Finally the day arrived that we could pack up the car and make the long road trip down south.
We left on Friday afternoon and stopped half way to spend the night. On Saturday we drove another 7 hours before seeing this glorious sign in our sight. I have to admit to feeling a little emotional when I finally saw the Disney sign. It was a feeling of relief that we were finally there, but also such joy because I knew memories were about to be made. And the fact that I am a 34 year old finally visiting Disney World for the first time was pretty exciting to me.
We stayed at the Art of Animation Resort. It is one of the newest resorts and so was much fun to just walk around. And in hindsight, I think our kids enjoyed the resort more than the parks... it was a fun place to stay.  The Lightning McQueen was the first thing Dallin saw upon arrival and could barely move from this spot. He appears mad in this picture because I made him turn and face the camera instead of looking at "Cachow!".  (funny how that word looks when you actually spell it out)
There were several themed rooms to choose from, but we chose the Cars theme because I knew Dallin would LOVE it! And he did!
There were also Nemo, Little Mermaid and Lion King rooms.

The big pool was a Nemo themed pool and was pretty awesome!
