David has always had a special place in his heart for Detroit and all the car places up there. For years he has been telling me that we need to bring the kids up there because it's such a fun place. I honestly kept thinking that his sense of a good time must be very skewed. Cars.... really?!
So last month David had some business meetings up in the Detroit area. The timing worked well, so we decided to finally join him on his "dream vacation". We decided to drive the 10 hours up there.

On the way we passed the 9/11 Pennsylvania Memorial so I decided to stop. It was a pretty awesome site and I'm glad we took the time to stop.
And since I stopped there, David got to stop at the model train store. The man there was very happy to show us EVERYTHING.
The kids even each got a turn to use the remote to drive the trains.
And Dallin was happy to get a train catalog to read on the ride.
Our first couple of nights we stayed in Sandusky, Ohio at the Great Wolf Lodge. David was gone to meetings during the days and the kids and I played!
Of course the girls were excited to play Magi Quest again. Dallin even got a magic wand this time too!
We played in the arcade one night when David got back. I did NOT want to go to the arcade. It didn't sound fun to me at all. Once there, I decided to just try one game. And lo and behold I hit the jackpot!! We won 1,000 tickets on my one spin of the wheel. Each of the kids were able to get a couple of prizes.
Bed time with my snugly boy.
