Utah/Idhao Trip - Part 1

We were only home from Detroit for a short 3 days before heading out west for vacation. This was a 10 day trip to Utah and Idaho in which we were able to see a lot of family and do a lot of really awesome things!
The afternoon we arrived in Utah we went to Tom & Melissa Wilson's house. Jeff & Carrie and Rebecca & Jeremy were also there with their kids. All the cousins played and we went swimming up in a reservoir near their house. I didn't get any pictures of that because I was near exhausted after flying all day. We all had dinner at Pizza Pie Cafe and then that night all the cousins played while the adults went and did family sealings at the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. That was a neat and special experience to be with such wonderful family doing family names in the temple. Melissa had been working on these names for nearly 10 years.  I felt blessed to have married into such a neat family.

It was a VERY long day for us. We had been up almost 24 hrs by the time we actually got in bed that night.

Our first full day was spent in Provo as David had some work meetings. I took the kids all around Provo and BYU campus. They were totally thrilled the whole day and wanted to hear all my college stories. Okay, not really, but they endured well.

 Future Cougars!
That night we went to the Ogden Temple open house. They recently finished a renovation of the temple and were about to rededicate it. I'm glad we took another opportunity to allow our children to see the inside of a temple.
We had dinner and stayed the night with my Uncle Don and Aunt Valerie. They gave us the royal treatment and totally loved on all our kids the whole time. They had gotten out some building blocks and other toys for the kids to play with. And they had a big backyard that our kids were drooling over. It even had a fire pit in which we HAD to roast marshmallows!
Playing on their ipad which they loved because we never let them touch Davids ipad.
Of course Valerie wanted to get up and make us breakfast. Carmen offered to help make french toast (because she's really good at it).

Then we said our goodbyes and headed up to Idaho.
But Valerie couldn't let us leave without giving $2 to each of the kids. Wow, she left a good impression them!
