It was a bit out of our way, but we made the trek to Gooding, Idaho to visit my Patton grandparents. They had only met Carmen and Aliza when they were just babies. It was so fun to see them interact with each other. Grandpa had made a cake that he wanted to decorate with the girls. He scored major points with that activity! I loved listening to his jokes and the girls just giggling away at him.
There's never too many sprinkles!
They each wanted to try on Great Grandpa's hat.

Then we went for a drive to my Uncle Mikes berry and goat farm. The strawberries and blackberries were just ripe for picking. And they picked a lot! We just ate them by the handfuls.
Can't you tell by this face how delicious those blackberries were?! I honestly have never liked blackberries, but I could not get enough of these. They were so great just off the vine.
Carmen's dream of "mucking stalls" finally came true. Her and Charlotte cleaned out some of the goat stalls.
And we even got to feed the goats. Turns out they love animal crackers.
David and Uncle Mike chatting about his dream of owning a farm.
A selfie with myself and Grandma
This goat got loose and everyone was chasing it!
Before getting back in the car, Mike cleaned the girls shoes off. We had stepped in a lot of.... stuff.
This was the best we could do for a group shot. Dallin wouldn't get out of the car and Carmen was less than thrilled to pose for another picture. The other little girls are my cousin Josh's daughters. They were super cute. I'm so grateful we got to see my grandparents. This very well was the last time that I would ever see them in this life. Because of distance I never got very close to them. I'm sad about that because they are fabulous people. They are so funny and always have the best stories. And my grandpa comes up with the greatest poems.
