Day 13 - Rome Part 4

Day 13: Today was finally Rome Temple day! We intentionally decided to make the temple visit our last day of our trip. This LDS Temple is extra special to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because Rome is a place that many disciples came to preach about Christ but where persecuted and martyred for their beliefs. But now this beautiful House of the Lord stands on the hill above Rome. The spirit and peace I felt here was different than any basilica, cathedral or chapel we visited. It was strong and pierced my heart. I especially loved all the stained glass. The large one with symbols of all of Christ parables is especially beautiful. And seeing the Christ statue with all the original 12 Apostles was super neat too. We of course ended our day with Gelato. Venchi gets our vote as the #1 spot in Italy. Tomorrow we finally head home! #venividivici #icameisawiconquered

Finally on our way home! It was a long, hot wonderfully cultural two weeks. We feel so blessed to have gone on this trip. And the kids got their first taste of the Concierge Lounge in an airport. They were so excited about the all you eat AMERICAN food. Some may have even commented that this was the best part of the whole trip....
